Title: Inter Club Council (ICC) Co-Chairs

About my background, I was born and raised in Vietnam for 15 years before moving to the US three years ago. Therefore, I have experienced and understood the hardships of adapting into a new culture. However, since the US culture is a fusion of many different cultures, I don’t have to neglect my Viet culture but integrate it with American culture. Additionally, since I have participated in many cultural programs and community services before and after I went to the US, I have the opportunity to learn and practice the appropriate and respected way of interacting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. As for my background and experiences, I have developed cultural sensitivity which I believe is extremely important for the leading position in one of the most diverse colleges in California. Moreover, similar to many students in their first year or more, I used to have a difficult time finding information about school activities and clubs since the information isn’t very visible unless you put effort in looking for it. I’m in favor of these events being more accessible for every student. My goal when becoming the ICC co-host is to spread the diversity of ethnicity, culture, sexuality, and background through clubs at Mt. Sac College. Our college has a variety of clubs available, so students could find their community; on the other hand, students could also join any club that they are curious or interested about. Nonetheless, I will also increase promoting clubs and campus events to help students and the community be aware of the availability and information of those events. Overall, my ultimate goal is to help Mt. Sac students to have the best college experience possible. Thank
